It is with great sadness that the Butler Chamber of Commerce announces that the annual Christmas Parade has been cancelled for December 5, 2020. The Chamber Board was excited to have the parade this year and was working to make sure everyone had a wonderful and safe time. With the rising cases of COVID-19 in Bates County and especially Butler and with guidance from the Bates County Memorial Hospital, we did not think it would be wise to hold the parade at this time. We apologize for the late notice; we had hoped that we would be able to hold the parade this year. We want to thank organizations that had taken time already to build floats and entries in the parade. We are sorry that we will not be able to see these wonderful masterpieces this year. The Chamber will still be doing letters to Santa and a mailbox will be placed near the gazebo on the courthouse lawn. Letters can be dropped off starting December 5th until 17th and a response letter will come back from Santa. So make sure you have your return address on the letter for Santa. We again are very sorry to make this announcement, but we are trying to do what we think is the best. We hope that we will be able to see everyone at the Christmas Parade in 2021.
