The Butler Church of the Nazarene will host “ Toyland” on Friday and Saturday, December 6th and 7th. The church and its members want to take some of the pressure off families who may wonder how they can afford a toy for their children this year. The church of the Nazarene invites parents to stop by and pick up 2 toys from the donation tables. Toys are new or slightly used. Dates are December 6th from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again December 7th from 8:00 am until noon. The Church of the Nazarene is located on Nursery Street in Butler.

Bates County Broadcasting opened as a single day-time station on May 11th 1962. Broadcasting from sunrise to sunset 7-days each week. This was the first radio station to broadcast in the Bates County Area. Owned and Operated by Bill Thornton and his brother Jerry Thornton.
In 1975 the FM Frequency was added and the stations simulcast. The FM has a 24 hours license but just broadcast from 6 am until 10 pm.
