The Fall Citywide Clean-up for Butler will be the 3rd and 4th weeks in September. All houses north of Fort Scott street September 14th-18th, and all houses south of Fort Scott street September 21st-25th. Bates County Disposal will pick-up residential properties only, all items must be placed at the curb and separated from weekly trash, one load per pick-up only. No tires or construction/building materials. The City of Butler will pick-up your normal yard waste. These items must be placed separate from the trash pick-up. Brush and Limbs no larger than 6” in diameter, leaves must be bagged in City of Butler Leaf bags. Items must be at curbside by 6 am on Monday of your pick-up week. |

Bates County Broadcasting opened as a single day-time station on May 11th 1962. Broadcasting from sunrise to sunset 7-days each week. This was the first radio station to broadcast in the Bates County Area. Owned and Operated by Bill Thornton and his brother Jerry Thornton.
In 1975 the FM Frequency was added and the stations simulcast. The FM has a 24 hours license but just broadcast from 6 am until 10 pm.
