The game schedule was certainly on their side by allowing them to scout Sherwood and Odessa prior to the first bout against Sherwood. The Lady Marksmen was scoreless in the first quarter (8-0). The Lady Bears continued to lead the rest of the game with an aggressive defensive strategy that resulted in several turnovers to their benefit. The final score was 30-18. Point leaders were Haven Humphrey with 10, Adyson Clover with 9, Brooke Miller with 8 and Keera Brockman with 3.
Game two against the Odessa Lady Bulldogs challenged the Lady Bear’s grit and perseverance. The team learned to appreciate their ability to control the pace of the game in order to catch their breath and play “smart” basketball. They also learned a lesson in winning graciously. The final score was 34-8. Point leaders were Madison Kennedy with 11, Haven Humphrey with 10, and Adyson Clover with 5. The greatest part of this game…EVERY PLAYER SCORED!
