Butler Lions Club Members will take to the streets asking for Lions Club Radio

Auction donations. The merchandise you donate will be put on the auction March

30th through April 2nd.  Your Butler Lions Club Merchandise donations will be

appreciated as the Annual Butler Lions Club Radio Auction raise funds for the needs

in the Butler community by the Butler Lions Club Members. A Butler Lions Club

Bates County Broadcasting opened as a single day-time station on May 11th 1962. Broadcasting from sunrise to sunset 7-days each week. This was the first radio station to broadcast in the Bates County Area. Owned and Operated by Bill Thornton and his brother Jerry Thornton. In 1975 the FM Frequency was added and the stations simulcast. The FM has a 24 hours license but just broadcast from 6 am until 10 pm.
