On Thursday, August 29, at 6:12 p.m., Butler Police Officers arrived on scene in the 300 block of S. Wells in Butler for a report of a distraught male, possibly armed, who also had active felony warrants. Officers attempted to make contact; however the subject would not come to the door. Officers on scene then contacted the Bates County Sheriff’s Office for assistance. After almost two hours of negotiating, the subject came to the door and surrendered.
32 year old Christopher R. Kuone was taken into custody without incident or injury.
At this time, the Butler Police Department would like to thank Sheriff Chad Anderson and Bates County Sheriff’s Deputies, for their response and assistance with this incident. They hope the community can feel safe knowing that these agencies can work together to achieve a positive outcome.
