The Butler Police Department reports that during the month of August, Butler Police received several reports regarding thefts, property damage and vandalism on the South part of Butler, including the High School. The timeline is:
- August 5th – St. Patrick’s Catholic Church reports a rock thrown through the stain glass window
- August 6th – report of property damage / vandalism to a memorial at the Butler High School
- August 9th – a gun is reported stolen from a vehicle
- August 11th – report of property damage / vandalism to a memorial at the Butler High School
- August 17th – report of guitars and Wal-Mart gift cards were stolen after someone broke into the Happy Hill Church of God
After reviewing video footage obtained, interviewing witnesses, and receiving tips, Officers were able to identify 3 juvenile suspects and 1 adult suspect (19-year old Danyal Steward).
There have been several reports similar to these throughout the summer. At this time those are still considered ongoing investigations.
