The Carpenter’s Cup is asking for the public to help replenish the personal hygiene storage cabinet at the Butler Youth Center. The center opens on September 13th. The center not only provides after-school activities but they offer a personal hygiene storage cabinet for the children to take home the products of their choice. Items needed are Deodorant, shampoo, hair conditioner, body wash, hairbrushes and combs, toothbrushes and toothpaste, body lotion, and feminine hygiene products”. Donations may be left on the park bench outside the Butler Alternative School, located behind the Butler High School, access to this location is from High Street. Bates County Broadcasting opened as a single day-time station on May 11th 1962. Broadcasting from sunrise to sunset 7-days each week. This was the first radio station to broadcast in the Bates County Area. Owned and Operated by Bill Thornton and his brother Jerry Thornton.
In 1975 the FM Frequency was added and the stations simulcast. The FM has a 24 hours license but just broadcast from 6 am until 10 pm.
