On September 7th at approximately 7:23 pm, Cass County resident Aryn Nelson, 21, of Clinton was involved in an accident when the vehicle she was driving was hit in the rear by another vehicle. Nelson was traveling Southbound on MO-7 at Creighton when her 2013 Chevy Spark was struck in the rear corner as she changed lanes. Nelson lost control of the vehicle as it traveled off the roadway and overturned in the median where it came to a rest. The driver of the other vehicle, who was not identified, stopped briefly but left the scene before law enforcement arrived. Nelson received minor injuries in the crash and was transported by ambulance to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton. Her vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by J’s Southland Tow.

Bates County Broadcasting opened as a single day-time station on May 11th 1962. Broadcasting from sunrise to sunset 7-days each week. This was the first radio station to broadcast in the Bates County Area. Owned and Operated by Bill Thornton and his brother Jerry Thornton.
In 1975 the FM Frequency was added and the stations simulcast. The FM has a 24 hours license but just broadcast from 6 am until 10 pm.
