Cass County Arrest

On Saturday, February 25th, 2023, at approximately 2339 hours, the Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the area of Peculiar Drive and Sioux Chief to assist the Peculiar Police Department with a pursuit. The suspect vehicle was later located in the area of Brush College Rd and Anaconda Rd and a pursuit ensued. The vehicle was stopped utilizing the Grappler Device on 307th Street in rural Harrisonville.

The driver of the vehicle fled on foot and was apprehended a short time later.

Jonathan Jackson, (38) from Independence, was taken into custody on an active Cass County warrant for failing to appear on an unlawful possession of a firearm charge, two warrants out of Belton; one for driving while revoked/suspended and the other for possession of narcotic equipment. Mr. Jackson also has an active warrant out of Kansas City for invasion of privacy.

“The use of the Grappler Device has been a wonderful tool in assisting our deputies with bringing these types of incidents to a safer conclusion” said Sheriff Jeff Weber. Mr. Jackson is currently being held in the Cass County Jail pending additional charges.
