COVID-19 Case and Vaccine Data Released
Harrisonville, MO (November 3, 2021) –
Cass County has released its weekly report documenting COVID-19 impacts and vaccination efforts to combat the pandemic. The data is through the week ending October 30, 2021.
There were 98 confirmed (PCR tests) cases in Cass County in the last week, down from the 127 cases the week prior. In addition, there were 51 probable cases (antigen tests and other cases), down from 69 cases the week prior.
111 people were notified of possible exposure, up from 93 last week. 88 of those exposures related to school systems, up from 33 the week prior. 23 people were notified of exposure outside school systems, down from 60 such notifications the previous week.
Overall, Cass County has reported 11,426 cases, about 10,796 cases per 100,000 residents.
The county has reported 124 deaths (117 per 100,000 residents), with one death reported in the last week.
The Cass County Health Department administered 299 vaccine doses last week, up from 213 doses the prior week. They have now administered 10,700 first doses and 10,356 second doses of COVID-19 vaccines. In addition, 275 third doses and 879 booster shots of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines have now been administered to those who qualify. The department uses the Pfizer (age 12 and up) and Moderna (age 18 and up) vaccines.
In addition to Health Department administered vaccines, other entities are offering vaccines to county residents. According to the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) Data Hub which uses Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) data, 52.1 percent of Cass County residents have initiated vaccinations and 45.7 percent have completed vaccinations. 75.5 percent of residents 65 and older, and 50.94 percent of residents 18-64 have been fully vaccinated.
The Health Department will continue to offer vaccinations from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday at their new clinic location at 2061 N Commercial St., Harrisonville, MO 64701. Walk-ins are welcome but appointments are preferred. For an appointment, residents can call 816-380-8425 to schedule.
