Clay William Palmer was born March 24, 2003 in Royal Oak Michigan to Harold “Teejay” and Tracy Morse Palmer.  He grew up in Cleveland, Missouri and attended Cass Midway School and Career Center, graduating in 2022.  Clay was an active FFA member of the Trap Team and enjoyed playing varsity football.  He was also a member of Eagle Scout Troop 256 of Freeman, Missouri and excelled at 4-H Shooting events.  Clay had a passion for welding, and won several awards and scholarships, the Skills USA State Competition First Place Welding and Fabrication Team.  He continued on to compete on the national level.    Following graduation, Clay was attending Iron Eagle Welding Academy in Stockton.  He was looking forward to graduation, his dream career in welding, and having new adventures as he traveled for work.

Clay loved driving his truck and listening to music, working on his truck, and hanging out with friends.  He enjoyed working, and often times had two to three jobs, he never liked to sit still for very long.  He was an avid outdoorsman, fishing, hunting, and trap shooting with his grandpa’s gun.  Time spent in grandpa’s workshop sharing tools and conversations as they worked on his truck was very special to Clay.

Clay will always be remembered for his smile, his favorite hats sitting atop his curly hair, the beard that allowed him to get away with things, and always wearing his cowboy boots and button shirt.  He was always prepared to hop in his truck for an adventure.

Clay was preceded in death by his grandma June M. Morse and grandfather William A. Palmer.  He is survived by his parents, Harold and Tracy Palmer of Cleveland, Missouri, half-brother Daryn Goff of Michigan, grandparents Bob and Joann Morse of Troy, Michigan, and Harry and Judy Eichstadt of Navarre, Florida, along with aunts and uncles, Rob and Leslie Morse of Sterling Heights, Michigan, and Rich and Theresa Flake of Bruce Crossings, Michigan, along with a great-aunt Linda Nelson of Hull,  Massachusetts, and many other extended family members and close friends.
