COATS FOR KIDS PRIZE WINNERS

DSWA CPAs and Carol Ann Winburn were thrilled with the response to the Coats for Kids project this year.  Contributions have been especially generous, many in memory of Larry Winburn, who passed away in August.  Carol Ann and DSWA staff members were able to purchase and deliver well over 200 brand-new warm coats for deserving kids from the eight schools and two Head Start Programs in the area.

Individual donors became participants in the yearly Coats for Kids prize drawing, held Monday, Dec. 13 at the DSWA CPAs office. First prize, an Oster digital air fryer, went to Brent and Kendra Welston of Butler.  Second prize, a $50 gift card to The Pennell restaurant on the Butler square, went to Brent and Kari Scott of Adrian.  Third prize, a $25 gift card to The Tilted Tulip, a flower and gift shop in Butler, went to Patty Hahn of Adrian.

As always, the DSWA staff appreciates the help of area school nurses and teachers, who nominate the kids who need coats.  Butler’s Wal-Mart offers a generous discount on purchases made at the local store.

Sincere gratitude goes out to all the caring individuals and organizations who contribute to the program year after year.  The best “thank you’s” are the excited and ecstatic smiles on the faces of the young recipients of brand-new warm jackets and coats purchased just for them.
