Doris Arlene Rosier, age 88 of Springfield, Missouri died Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Wilson’s Creek Nursing and Rehab in Springfield.  She was born September 25, 1934 to James Garfield and Bessie Dee Johnston Faylor in Briar Creek, Missouri.

Doris, one of seven children, lived most of her adult life in Butler, Missouri before moving to Springfield, Missouri in 2009.  She was a dietician for 27 years working at Medicalodge of Butler and Willow Lane Nursing Center.   Doris was an active member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in both Butler and Springfield.   She joined the quilting club through the auxiliary to make quilts that was sold to raise money for veterans. 

Doris is described as loving, compassionate, funny, caring and very ornery.   She enjoyed shopping, traveling, painting, quilting, playing bingo and watching baseball.  Doris’ greatest love was playing and spending time with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Doris is survived by three sons, Mitchel Deese of Salem, Missouri, Benton Rosier and wife Derenda of Springfield, Missouri, Russell Rosier and wife Alena, of Virginia; a daughter, Kari Rosier of Springfield, Missouri; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.  She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Michael Deese; two sisters, Thelma Wheeler and Betty Ann Rosier; and four brothers, James Johnston, Marvin D. Johnston, James D. Faylor and Paul E. Faylor.
