The community is invited to the Double Branch Christian Church Ladies Aide Salad Supper on April 28, at 6:30 pm. This year their speakers will be Beverly Burch and Doncella Liggins. Bring a salad and join in for an evening of inspiration and fellowship. Double Branch Christian Church is located at 5520 SE County Road 3506, Butler. Bates County Broadcasting opened as a single day-time station on May 11th 1962. Broadcasting from sunrise to sunset 7-days each week. This was the first radio station to broadcast in the Bates County Area. Owned and Operated by Bill Thornton and his brother Jerry Thornton.
In 1975 the FM Frequency was added and the stations simulcast. The FM has a 24 hours license but just broadcast from 6 am until 10 pm.
