There are some changes to the Drexel Bobcats Junior High Athletic programs for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year. These changes were approved at the last Drexel school board meeting and will be reflected in the Drexel Athletic Handbook as well.
6TH GRADE ATHLETIC PARTICIPATION
All students entering the 6th grade shall be eligible to play junior high sports starting with the 2022-2023 school year.
6th grade participation shall be determined on a sport-by-sport basis each school year.
6th graders will be used only in those sports where numbers are too low to field a team.
Any 6th grader that plays for the school team cannot participate in the same sport in Davison Youth Sport Association games (including practices) until the school sport season is over. For a complete list of the MSHSAA rules on this visit the We Are Bobcats Facebook page.
6th grade student-athletes will adhere to the eligibility requirements listed in the Drexel Athletic Handbook.
6th graders participating in school sports will need to have a MSHSAA Physical Form on file with Drexel Schools. These forms can be picked up in Mr. French’s office at the Drexel School.
As of right now, girls’ volleyball and girls’ basketball will be the sports needing 6th grade participants.
