On Saturday, April 7th, 2018 at 01:00 a.m. the Miami County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Metcalf at 319th Street in reference to a one vehicle injury accident. The Miami County Sheriff’s Office, Miami County EMS, and Louisburg Fire responded to the scene.
It was determined that a 2004 Dodge Caravan was traveling southbound on Metcalf and left the roadway, in the area of Metcalf and 319th street, and traveled into the ditch. The driver was ejected and the vehicle rolled, trapping the driver under the vehicle. The passenger was able to escape from the vehicle and walk to a nearby residence for help. The driver was identified as George Miller Stanton (w/m DOB 031388) of Drexel, MO and was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was identified as David Lee Miller (w/m DOB 082786).
This accident is currently under investigation by the Miami County Sheriff’s Office.
