Driver Tries to Evade Bates County Sheriff’s Deputies During an Attempted Traffic Stop

On Saturday, 8/8/20, at approximately 3 am, a Bates County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation. The vehicle failed to yield to the deputy and traveled south on county road 7501.

The vehicle continued to travel approximately 2 to 3 miles until it pulled behind a residence. The driver ran from the vehicle into the house.

Once additional Bates County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on scene, the subject came out from the residence.

The subject was issued multiple tickets to include failing to yield and careless and imprudent driving. The subject was released from the scene.

The case has been forwarded to the Bates County Prosecutor’s Office for review for additional charges.
