PSC Sets Intervention Deadline In Evergy Missouri West
Request To Adjust DSIM Charge
JEFFERSON CITY—Evergy Missouri West, Inc. d/b/a Evergy Missouri West has filed an
application with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking to adjust the Demand Side
Investment Mechanism (DSIM) charge on customer bills. The DSIM charge, which appears as a
separate line-item on customer bills, allows Evergy Missouri West to recover demand-side
management program costs and incentives under the Missouri Energy Efficiency Investment Act
(MEEIA).
According to the application, a residential customer using 1,000 kWh (kilowatt-hours) of
electricity a month will see the charge decrease by approximately $1.06 a month, effective February
1, 2023.
Applications to intervene and participate in this case must be filed no later than December
22, 2022, with the Secretary of the Missouri Public Service Commission, P.O. Box 360, Jefferson
City, Missouri 65102, or by using the Commission’s Electronic Filing and Information System
(EFIS) at www.psc.mo.gov.

Evergy Missouri West provides electric service to approximately 336,640 customers in the
Missouri counties of Andrew, Atchison, Barton, Bates, Benton, Buchanan, Carroll, Cass, Cedar, Clay,
Clinton, Dade, Daviess, DeKalb, Gentry, Grundy, Harrison, Henry, Holt, Jackson, Johnson,
Lafayette, Livingston, Mercer, Nodaway, Pettis, Platte, Ray, St. Clair, Vernon and Worth.

Bates County Broadcasting opened as a single day-time station on May 11th 1962. Broadcasting from sunrise to sunset 7-days each week. This was the first radio station to broadcast in the Bates County Area. Owned and Operated by Bill Thornton and his brother Jerry Thornton.
In 1975 the FM Frequency was added and the stations simulcast. The FM has a 24 hours license but just broadcast from 6 am until 10 pm.
