The Missouri Highway Patrol with the assistance of the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a one-car accident on Friday, June 17th at SW 1200 MO-13 at 6:08am.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol this fatality accident occurred when a 2004 Mercury, driven by Carol Dixon 31 of Clinton, Missouri, attempted to pass another vehicle, Dixon swerved to avoid oncoming traffic and the tire on the Mercury blew. The vehicle traveled off the roadway, struck several objects, overturned, and struck a utility pole.
Carol Dixon was pronounced dead at the scene and was taken to Sweeney Phillips Holdren Funeral Home by Coroner.
The Mercury was towed from the scene by Tip Top Towing.
