Fatality Crash takes the Lives of Two Women

A Fatality crash on South bound I-49 took the lives of two-women, Janna Dillion, 73 of Clinton Missouri and Sandra Hammond, 77 of Belton Missouri.

The Missouri Highway Patrol responded to the accident at 1:12pm on Monday, February 7th at mile maker 161 on South bound I-49 highway near Harrisonville.

The accident occurred when a 2005 Toyota, driven by Sandra Hammond was travelling northbound in the southbound lane of I-49.  The Toyota struck a 2022 Chevrolet, driven by Janna Dillon, head on causing the Chevrolet to strike a 2006 Volkswagen driven by Trevor Halfmann, 51 of Lee’s Summit Missouri.

Mrs. Hammond’s vehicle came to rest partially in the left lane of I-49 facing southbound. Mrs. Dillion’s vehicle overturned and travelled off the right side of the roadway and Mr. Halfmann’s vehicle travelled off the right side of the roadway.

Janna Dillion and Sandra Hammond were pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Frontier Forensics.

All three vehicles were towed from the scene by J’s Southland Tow.
