Lionel Barrymore received an instant response in the hearts of people everywhere when they heard their favorite fictional release of “A Christmas Carol” to the radio airwaves. FM-92 will revive its tradition of airing this beloved story of “Scrooge” on Christmas Eve. The hour-long story will air at 7:00 pm December 24th from the studios of FM-92. Bates County Broadcasting opened as a single day-time station on May 11th 1962. Broadcasting from sunrise to sunset 7-days each week. This was the first radio station to broadcast in the Bates County Area. Owned and Operated by Bill Thornton and his brother Jerry Thornton.
In 1975 the FM Frequency was added and the stations simulcast. The FM has a 24 hours license but just broadcast from 6 am until 10 pm.
