The second annual Cowboy’N for a Cause fundraising event will hit the Ferguson Arena at the Adrian City Park on Sunday afternoon September 22nd. Chutes open for Mutton Bustin at 1:30. Buster’s must be 7 years old or younger and weigh less than 65 pounds. Mutton Buster’s will register at 12:30 for a cost of $15.00 per rider. Bull Rider entry fees are $75.00 with $1000.00 added money. The Winner of the Bull Riding event will receive a Molly’s Custom Silver Buckle and an American Hat. Advance tickets will be sold during the Butler Huckster’s Day Festival on September 7th. Look for the Cowboy’N for a Cause Booth. Adult tickets are $8.00 in advance, $10.00 at the gate, Kids ( 6-14) $6.00 in advance and $8.00 at the gate, Kids under 5 will be admitted free. That’s the 2nd annual Cowboy ‘N for a Cause fundraising MR2 Bucking Bulls, Sponsored by Electric City Ink of Butler. Part of this fundraising event proceeds will be donated to the family members involved in the August 9th fatality accident and Lilli’s House Women and children’s Shelter in Adrian. Bates County Broadcasting opened as a single day-time station on May 11th 1962. Broadcasting from sunrise to sunset 7-days each week. This was the first radio station to broadcast in the Bates County Area. Owned and Operated by Bill Thornton and his brother Jerry Thornton.
In 1975 the FM Frequency was added and the stations simulcast. The FM has a 24 hours license but just broadcast from 6 am until 10 pm.
