The Harrisonville community is invited to learn more about Propositions I+N which will be on the April 7 ballot. The district will host three community conversations which are open to all. The events will be held as follows:
- Wednesday, Feb. 26, 7 p.m., Harrisonville High School Performing Arts Center
- Thursday, March 12, 7 p.m., Harrisonville Community Center
- Monday, March 30, 7 p.m., Harrisonville Chamber of Commerce
Propositions I+N are two separate ballot issues. Proposition I is a 50 cent operating levy increase for the purpose of attracting and retaining quality staff through salary increases.
Harrisonville Proposition N is a no tax rate increase bond issue for $22,700,000 for providing funds to meet needs within our district including improvement of safety & security, replacing roofs, HVAC units, and boilers; improving technology and playgrounds, and completing other repairs & improvements as identified in the facility needs assessment. Passage of this measure would result in a 10 cent debt service levy rollback.
If both Harrisonville issues pass, it would be a net 40 cent increase to the overall levy.
Harrisonville Superintendent Paul Menshing is also available for group/organization presentations. If you would like him to speak to your group, please contact Jill Filer at 380-2727.
