Following approval at last week’s Board of Education meeting, the district sent families information on back-to-school plans for this year. The first day of school will be Monday, August 24 and parents have the choice of in-person or virtual learning for their children.
The deadline for parents to choose in-person or virtual is today at 5 p.m. and the form to make that selection is here – https://forms.gle/zb1JJjRh1DWFH3oYA. If a form is not completed, the student will be enrolled as in-person.
For in-person learning, the district has outlined health and safety procedures that will be in place including face coverings for students & staff when 6′ of distancing is not feasible, increased disinfection in all schools & classrooms, increased hygiene protocols including use of hand sanitizer and hand washing, symptom checks, and limiting daily contacts.
Virtual learning will be provided by third party vendors with district staff serving as points of contact, coordinators and resources for students. District students have used both platforms in the past for summer school and virtual learning. Both platforms are based on the Missouri Learning Standards.
