Cpl Richardson, Deputies Logan and Oaks, took Tommy Lee Peek, II into custody at a residence in Calhoun just before 3:00 a.m. today. Peek attempted to flee from Deputies during the incident but was subdued with the use of a Taser (less leather weapon). Peek has put deputies lives and the community in danger several times over the past few weeks by fleeing with the use of a motor vehicle at high speeds to avoid apprehension on his Henry County warrants. Most recently he assaulted a law enforcement officer in Benton County by running his car into a patrol vehicle.
Peek remains in custody at the Henry County Detention Center with cash bonds set at $2,500.00 on charges of stealing, possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest (multiple counts) and domestic assault.
“We are glad to have Peek in custody this morning so he can no longer terrorize the community by his willful disregard for human life”, Sheriff Oberkrom said.
