On 05/25/2019 at 11:00 a.m., Clinton Police Officers were dispatched to a vehicle crash with the driver leaving the scene in the vicinity of Price Lane and Augusta Street. The crash apparently happened when the driver, Jeremy Jones, age 35, of Clinton, lost control of his vehicle while travelling eastbound on Augusta Street and crossing the bridge west of the intersection with Price Lane. The vehicle left the roadway and impacted a gas meter and the side of a house. The house was occupied at the time, but no one was injured. Jones was apprehended by Clinton Police Officers a short distance away after he fled the scene on foot. Jones was arrested on an outstanding warrant. Charges stemming from the vehicle crash itself are being sought.
