Hometown Hero Mary Fisher of Butler

Our Hometown Hero recognition goes to Mary Fisher from Bates County Farm Bureau recognition for her act of kindness.

Mary donated 35 pounds of ground beef to Rita Lowe, the Culinary Manager of the Butler Senior Center on May 2, 2022 to help the center continue their mission to provide nutritious meals to the seniors of Bates County!

Thank you Mary and thank you Bates County Farm Bureau!

Bates County Broadcasting opened as a single day-time station on May 11th 1962. Broadcasting from sunrise to sunset 7-days each week. This was the first radio station to broadcast in the Bates County Area. Owned and Operated by Bill Thornton and his brother Jerry Thornton. In 1975 the FM Frequency was added and the stations simulcast. The FM has a 24 hours license but just broadcast from 6 am until 10 pm.
