Hugh (Bud) Dickinson Announcement

Hugh (Bud) Dickinson of Butler, Missouri passed away peacefully on September 14. 2022 at the VA Home in Warrensburg, MO surrounded by family. Cremation, with a private family inurnment that will occur in Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler, Missouri at a date to be determined. Arrangements entrusted to the Mullinax Funeral Home, Butler (660-679-0009).  Memorial contributions may be to the Alzheimer’s Association.  Messages of condolence and donations may be left for the family at www.mullinaxfuneralhome.com.

Hugh Neil “Bud” Dickinson was born October 11,1926, to Neil and Mary Dickinson in Reno, OK. He graduated from Butler High School, and went on the join the Army during World War II. On August 26,1948 he was united in marriage to Doris Elaine Dale. To this union, five children were born. They owned a dairy farm in Butler for many years where the children grew up. Besides being a dairy farmer, Bud collaborated on many jobs over the years including home construction, working county projects and building sun spaces in Kansas City. They moved to Forsythe, MO for approximately 18 years before moving back to Butler. Bud was a loving father and grandfather that enjoyed taking the kids fishing when they were young, and there were many family vacations.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents, wife Doris Dickinson, sisters Marsha Lang and Harriet Pyle, and grandson, Brandon Sloan. He is survived by his sister Mary Swanson, his children, Cheryl Lineman and husband David of Lake Tapawingo, MO, Bill Dickinson and wife Mary Dawn of Independence, MO, Brenda Barton and husband Jeff of Raymore, MO, Bob Dickinson of Butler, MO, and Don Dickinson of Kansas City, KS, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
