Hume Alumni, business owners, family and friends, Hume needs our help to pay for Playground Equipment.

It has been brought to the attention of 92.1 that the Hume School is in need of our help. If you as an individual or a local business would want to be a part of something big and exciting, the Hume School district is reaching out to you. The Hume community is asking for financial support from the community as they raise $24,000.00 to replace the playground equipment at the Hume school. The school staff, PTO, families, and the school district are working hard to make this goal happen. They, unfortunately, cannot do this on their own. This is where they need the help of the community.

The current set-up on the Hume school playground is one slide, a balance beam, swings, monkey bars, and a climbing structure. It only accommodates a percentage of its students and provides no shade. The school is unable to provide adequate play for its students with the current playground. A new playground will provide fun and play for the Hume Hornets, but they also know it is a community playground that will be played on in the evenings, on weekends, and all summer long!

The Hume School PTO has been fundraising for a few years now but with playground equipment being such a big expense, it would take years to do this on their own. It has proven to be extremely challenging and is taking far too long. We are ready to see this happen in 2023! They were recently blessed with a $5,000 grant that has helped boost them forward and to date, they have raised approximately $10,000 toward the goal. The Hume School, students, and parents truly believe that they can make this playground update a reality for the current and future students by expanding the efforts to our community and others who have a strong connection to their town and school.

Every dollar helps! No donation is too small. Hume will appreciate your generosity with this goal more than you know. Cash donations may be dropped off at any of the  Citizen’s Bank Branches, particularly in Hume, Rich Hill, and/or the Butler Branch or you can donate through the GOFUNDME account found on the Hume PTO Page.

The goal is $24,000 dollars as of January 25th the Hume School is still in need of $10,000  more dollars to purchase the much-needed playground equipment. All donations will be appreciated.
