Bulls, broncs, barrels, buckles and boots. It’s the 2019 Hume Fair and Rodeo. The rodeo will take place Friday and Saturday nights, August 2nd and 3rd at the Hume Arena. From the suspense of the Wild Horse Race and Bull Riding to the comedy skits of the Rodeo Clowns, it’s always entertaining and good family fun. Come on out and watch as cowboys and cowgirls from all around compete for top prize money Friday and Saturday, August 2nd and 3rd at 8 pm in Hume. Don’t forget to stay for the street dance after the Saturday night performance. Listen and dance to the sounds of Rekoil as the 2019 Hume Fair and Rodeo draws to a close. Bates County Broadcasting opened as a single day-time station on May 11th 1962. Broadcasting from sunrise to sunset 7-days each week. This was the first radio station to broadcast in the Bates County Area. Owned and Operated by Bill Thornton and his brother Jerry Thornton.
In 1975 the FM Frequency was added and the stations simulcast. The FM has a 24 hours license but just broadcast from 6 am until 10 pm.
