The past few weeks our surrounding area was saddened at the loss of Community members.
The community of Hume wishes to extend their sympathy to the family of Richard Buterbaugh. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, JoAnn and his family and friends.
We also wish to extend our sympathy to the family of Alvin Briscoe. Everyone always enjoyed visiting with him when he came into the café when it was open. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife and family.
We would like to also extend our sympathy to the family of Jean Wiley of Fort Scott, KS. We were blessed to spend many years at the Hume Fair with Jean and her husband Lloyd. They always furnished the sled for the Draft Horse Pull. She would always say “Kid, how ya been doing”? We will truly miss her at the Hume Fair. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends. All three of these will be greatly missed left a huge impact on everyone they met.
Just a reminder we are planning on the Hume Fair and Rodeo, July 28 through August 1. We invite boys and girls to be royalty candidates. Prince and Princess Candidates need to be 5 to 12 years of age. Rodeo Queen Candidates need to be 13 to 18 years of age, for more information contact 660-643-7637 or 7121. If you are interested in being a vendor you need to contact Erika Irwin at 660-424-0644.
Also just a reminder that the Hume Alumni has been postponed until a later date, as soon as we know something we will announce the make-up date.
Everyone please stay safe and have a wonderful week!
