In-Custody death
On Saturday evening, February, 20, 2021 Detention Staff found an inmate unresponsive and not breathing in his cell. Staff began CPR and called for medical and 1st responders to come to the Detention Center. The inmate was later pronounced deceased by Henry County Coroner Dain Sisk. Sherriff Oberkrom has requested the Western Missouri Sheriff’s Critical Incident Team comprising investigators from several counties to complete the investigation. An autopsy is scheduled for February 21, 2021 in Kansas City, Missouri.
