Responsible for empowering persons with disABILITIES to achieve goals they have set to decrease dependence on others. Job duties will include but are not limited to: providing case planning services, skills training, information and referral, advocating training, providing community presentations, facilitating group workshops, support groups or single group sessions. This position will need to have an understanding of various benefit systems such as Vocational Rehabilitation, MoHealth Net, Medicare, Division of Family Services, Social Security and others. An understanding and adhering to the Independent Living Philosophy is also required.
Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, education or other fields related to independent living. *Educational qualifications may be waived with FOUR or more years of equivalent experience in related position within a human service or benefits setting.
