During the Butler Planning Commission meeting on Tuesday February 9th after a statement by Scott Friedrich, attorney for the Kansas City Beef Company citing a procedural error in the posting and notification of the public meeting. The public hearing for The Kansas City Beef company has been postponed to a new date Tuesday, March 9th. To attend this meeting you must download zoom meeting. Currently due to Covid19 there will by no in person presents at the meeting. Check the City of Butler Facebook pages for updates.

Bates County Broadcasting opened as a single day-time station on May 11th 1962. Broadcasting from sunrise to sunset 7-days each week. This was the first radio station to broadcast in the Bates County Area. Owned and Operated by Bill Thornton and his brother Jerry Thornton.
In 1975 the FM Frequency was added and the stations simulcast. The FM has a 24 hours license but just broadcast from 6 am until 10 pm.
