Tuesday, January 11th was a sad day for those of us in the radio business as we lost a long-time member of the broadcasting family.
KNEM/KNMO-FM Radio in Nevada lost one of their own, Huell “Russ” Warren has passed away and leaves behind a tremendous legacy, not only at KNEM/KNMO-FM Radio but other radio stations where he worked early in his career.
Russ was legendary for his abilities and the contact list he had for finding news information. As KNEM/KNMO-FM Radio longtime News Director he was at the radio stations almost every day, not because he had to be but, because it was his passion.
For the last few years, when his health would no longer allow him to put in the time he once did, he was still at KNEM/KNMO-FM Radio almost every morning writing news stories and doing newscasts. It was his purpose, and he did it until the very end.
KNEM/KNMO-FM Radio will miss Russ and they know a lot of us will miss hearing him each morning doing the newscasts he loved to do.
Rest in peace Russ, you will be missed by many.
We here at KMAM/KMOE send our sympathy to Mike Harbit and everyone at KNEM/KNMO-FM Radio.
