The Missouri School Public Relations Association (MOSPRA) has named Paul Mensching, Superintendent of the Harrisonville School District, its 2021 Administrator of the Year. The award is given to a school administrator who exhibits excellent communication skills and supports open communications in his or her school district.
MOSPRA President, Kelly Wachel, said, “By dedicating himself to ongoing community outreach, especially through ‘listening tours,’ and a challenging 2020 bond and levy issue, Superintendent Mensching has helped create a positive culture of trust and support in his school community.”
Jill Filer, Director of Communications & Community Relations for the Harrisonville School District, wrote in her nomination, “In addition to leading our district through the unprecedented spring school closure and continuing our work to connect with families in new ways, we faced the work of a rescheduled election and restarting a bond/levy campaign. Mr. Mensching was and is the leader we need throughout all of this uncertainty..”
David Luther, Executive Director for MOSPRA, stated, “Paul Mensching came to the Harrisonville schools in 2018. Besides being an exemplary leader for his district, he understands the power of developing relationships. He works closely with his communications department to assure solid internal and external communications.”
