Miami R-1 donates over $2,000 to BCMH Cares fund

BUTLER, Mo. – Later this month, students from Miami R-1 will present a check for $2,098.67 to Bates County Memorial Hospital for the BCMH Cares program. Students raised the money throughout the month of October with several breast cancer awareness activities, including a bake sale, gift basket sales, a raffle, pumpkin sales, and gate proceeds from Pink Out games.

The efforts of these students will benefit local women who are seeking to prevent breast cancer through an annual mammogram screening. BCMH Cares is a fund that covers baseline or annual mammogram screenings for area uninsured women.

Bates County Memorial Hospital wishes to thank the Miami varsity volleyball and junior high basketball teams, coaches, parents and sponsors for their hard work to raise these funds.

To learn more about the BCMH Cares program, contact Chris Pope, Director of Imaging Services, at 660-200-7110.
