February 22th through the 29th is a week dedicated to FFA, designed to shine a light on an organization comprised of hardworking, dedicated and competitive individuals. Who joined FFA to develop potentialy for premier leadership, personal growth and career success. Throughout the spring and fall, the members of FFA compete in various contests which range anywhere from presenting speeches to judging livestock leaving plenty of room for individuals from diverse backgrounds. The FFA is also known for participating in multiple community service activities to keep in touch with and improve the community. Whether you are from the city, country or right here in town you can be sure the FFA chapter of Butler Missouri has a place for you.

Bates County Broadcasting opened as a single day-time station on May 11th 1962. Broadcasting from sunrise to sunset 7-days each week. This was the first radio station to broadcast in the Bates County Area. Owned and Operated by Bill Thornton and his brother Jerry Thornton.
In 1975 the FM Frequency was added and the stations simulcast. The FM has a 24 hours license but just broadcast from 6 am until 10 pm.
