NEVADA POLICE ARREST HOME INVASION SUSPECT

In the early morning hours of April 22nd Nevada Police were dispatched to a residence in the 1100 block of N. Clay Street for a reported assault that had just occurred.

Upon arrival it was determined that an unknown male subject had unlawfully entered the home and attacked a juvenile who was inside the home. The suspect had fled the scene on foot prior to Nevada police arrival.

The following day Nevada officers responded to a call of a suspicious person in the area of Allison Street and Cedar Street. Upon arrival, officers located the male subject in question. The subject fled on foot from Nevada officers and after a brief chase, officers were able to take the suspect into custody.

The subject was transported to the Vernon County Jail for holding.

Further investigation determined the subject in custody was the same suspect in the home invasion incident from the day prior.

The suspect taken into custody has been identified as follows:

Jason O. Clark, age 45 of Springfield, MO

On April 26, 2022, the following charges were filed against Jason O. Clark through the Vernon County Associate Court:

Burglary 1st Degree – Class B Felony

Kidnapping 2nd Degree – Class D Felony

Abuse or Neglect of a Child – Class D Felony

Clark is being held in the Vernon County Jail in lieu of a $250,000 cash only bond.
