In honor of National Child Abuse Prevention Month, Nevada Regional Medical Center (NRMC) has partnered with Heartland Behavioral Health, Healthy Nevada, and the Children’s Center to host a “Go Blue” Wellness Walk.
Beginning at noon on Friday, April 16, the hosts and attendees will gather at the south entrance of the Vernon County Courthouse at 100 W. Cherry Street for a group photo before taking a lap around the Nevada downtown square. Attendees are encouraged to wear blue, as is suggested every Friday in April. There will be light snacks and giveaways while they last.
Additionally, during the month of April Nevada Regional Medical Center is raising funds for the Children’s Center by planting a pinwheel garden at 800 S. Ash Street in Nevada. Individuals may contribute to “growing” the garden by donating a dollar per pinwheel. Donations may be dropped off at Nevada Regional Medical Center or with First National Bank in Nevada.
National Child Abuse Prevention Month recognizes the importance of families and communities working together to strengthen families to prevent child abuse and neglect. Through this collaboration, prevention services and supports help protect children and produce thriving families.
