On Sunday morning, July 26, 2020 my office was notified of the death of an individual following an accident in Bates County. The case was referred to my jurisdiction.
On the same date, Bates County EMS and first responders were dispatched to a rural road in northwestern Bates County at approximately 0251hrs on a report of accidental injuries. The subject was flown from the scene to a Kansas City area hospital for treatment, but unfortunately later succumbed to his injuries.
The decedent is identified as 68 year-old Gary Clearwater of La Cygne, Kansas. The cause of death is accidental in nature.
