Keep your eyes on the sky around 9 am on Tuesday, August 31st and you just might see the Boeing Stearman biplane that will be landing at the Butler Airport. This historic plane is part of Dream Flights, a non-profit organization established and dedicated to honoring seniors and military veterans. Through donors, community support, and volunteers, the Foundation provides Dream Flights in a Boeing Stearman biplane, the same aircraft used to train many military aviators in the late thirties and early forties. On August 1st Dream Flights launched Operation September Freedom which will run through September 30th and will focus on veterans of WWII. Over 1,000 veterans in all 50 states will receive the flight of a lifetime. On August 31st, two Butler residents, Harold Carey and Donald Radford will both be honored with a dream flight. Congratulations and thank you for your service. For more information on Dream Flights, Operation September Freedom, or how you can get involved, go to www.dreamflights.org.
