Peak Alerts have been issued from Osage Valley Electric.. They are asking the community to turn off all unnecessary appliances that are not in use. Limit your use to the clothes dryer, oven, dishwasher and other large load appliances to off peak times. If we all respect the Peak Alert is will take some of the strain off the power grid. Peak Alert hours are 6 am until 10 am and again at 4 pm until 8 pm. By every house and business helping they can maintain the reliability of the electric system. Thank you for your help .

Bates County Broadcasting opened as a single day-time station on May 11th 1962. Broadcasting from sunrise to sunset 7-days each week. This was the first radio station to broadcast in the Bates County Area. Owned and Operated by Bill Thornton and his brother Jerry Thornton.
In 1975 the FM Frequency was added and the stations simulcast. The FM has a 24 hours license but just broadcast from 6 am until 10 pm.
