Cass Co – Around 5:15 pm on Saturday deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a house in the 16000 block of S. State Route E Pleasant Hill for a reported shooting.
When deputies arrived, they located a man outside the house and an unresponsive female in the basement of the residence. Pleasant Hill Fire and EMS personnel on the scene determined the female deceased.
The victim is identified as Lankford’s wife, Lorie A. Lankford, 60, Pleasant Hill.
Monday, the Cass County Prosecutor’s Office charged John Bradley Lankford, 56, Pleasant Hill with Murder First Degree, A Felony and Armed Criminal Action.
John Lankford is currently in custody at the Cass County Jail on $500,000.00 Cash Only bond.
