Roll Over Accident near Rich Hill

The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to a one-vehicle accident at 4: 25pm on Sunday, September 26th . The accident occurred on Highway A east of Highway U in Bates County.

The accident occurred when a 2019 GMC 2500 driven by Darrell Stevener, age 67 of Rich Hill, traveled across the center of the roadway four times then ran off the right side of the roadway striking a fence and overturning.

Mr. Stevener received minor injuries and was transported by Bates County EMS to Bates County Memorial Hospital.

The 2019 GMC was totaled. J’s Southland Tow of Raymore was called to the scene of the accident to tow the vehicle.  A cable snapped during the process of removing the overturned car from the ditch and Jeremy Brown, an employee of J’s Southland Tow was struck in the face by the cable.  Mr. Brown was life-flighted.  FM 92 has spoken with J’s Southland Tow; Mr. Brown remains in the Hospital in stable condition.
