On 12/27/20 around 12:00pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County along with Bates County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a one vehicle accident on Route D just north of Route A in rural Bates County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2004 Pontiac Vibe driven by 52 year old Lynette A. Reeder of Rich Hill, Missouri traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned.
Lynette A. Reeder, with serious injuries, along with a passenger in her vehicle 42 year old Ronnie L. Reeder, with minor injuries, of Rich Hill were transported to Bates County Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Bates County Broadcasting opened as a single day-time station on May 11th 1962. Broadcasting from sunrise to sunset 7-days each week. This was the first radio station to broadcast in the Bates County Area. Owned and Operated by Bill Thornton and his brother Jerry Thornton.
In 1975 the FM Frequency was added and the stations simulcast. The FM has a 24 hours license but just broadcast from 6 am until 10 pm.
