Judge Highley and the Carpenters Cup of Butler will prepare a Thanksgiving meal that will be served at the Butler Senior Citizen building on Mill Street in Butler. The Thanksgiving meal menu will be turkey, dressing, your choice of mashed potatoes and gravy or sweet potatoes, your choice of seasoned green beans or corn, cranberry sauce, hot roll with butter, and to finish off the meal, your choice of apple or pumpkin pie with whipped cream topping. A complete list of food needed for this endeavor may be found on the Carpenter’s Cup Facebook page or the KMAM KMOE Facebook page. The donation of any of these items may be dropped off at the Carpenters Cup in Butler. Of course, any money donations can be dropped off either with Judge Julie Highley or at the Carpenters Cup. Bates County Broadcasting opened as a single day-time station on May 11th 1962. Broadcasting from sunrise to sunset 7-days each week. This was the first radio station to broadcast in the Bates County Area. Owned and Operated by Bill Thornton and his brother Jerry Thornton.
In 1975 the FM Frequency was added and the stations simulcast. The FM has a 24 hours license but just broadcast from 6 am until 10 pm.
