MULTIPLE ANNOUNCEMENTS TO SHERWOOD FAMILIES AND COMMUNITY: COVID-19 POSITIVE STAFF AND CLOSURE 11/23 & 11/24
From the Desk of Dr. Steve Ritter, Superintendent of Sherwood Cass R-VIII
Sherwood Cass School was notified of two (2) employees who tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, a large number of students and a number of staff members were placed on quarantine. All those who need to quarantine have been contacted by school administration.
Also, due to the reduction in available staff and the increased number of students on quarantine and/or virtual learning due to COVID-19 related issues, the Board of Education voted to amend the 2020-21 school year calendar and close the district on Monday, November 23rd and Tuesday, November 24th.
There will be no online learning nor face-to-face learning on these two days. They are off days for our students and instructional staff. The Board of Education will determine at a later date if/when these days of school will be made-up.
This means Thanksgiving Break will begin for all students on Friday, November 20th.
Clinton Schools are closed on Monday and Tuesday, so there are no Technical School Classes for High School Students.
Sports teams will continue to practice/compete as scheduled.
School will resume on Monday, November 30th. Please note we do have school on Mondays between Thanksgiving and the Winter Break.
