It’s Duck, Dip, Dive, Dodgeball! The Bates County Sheriff’s Posse is hosting a Dodgeball Tournament at the Butler High School, Feb 1st starting at 9 am. Cost is $100.00 per team with a minimum of 6 players. All participants must be 15 years or older. If you and your buddies have what it takes to win, call Deputy Hecox at 660-679-3232 to enter a team. Bates County Broadcasting opened as a single day-time station on May 11th 1962. Broadcasting from sunrise to sunset 7-days each week. This was the first radio station to broadcast in the Bates County Area. Owned and Operated by Bill Thornton and his brother Jerry Thornton.
In 1975 the FM Frequency was added and the stations simulcast. The FM has a 24 hours license but just broadcast from 6 am until 10 pm.
